Tired!

Oh K  We had a really long couple of days.  I have been running, running the past two days is seems like. I have lots of updates and pictures to post but I"m going to do pictures tomorrow cuz I'm SO tired.  Poor Zeus stayed up all night...jumping on the bed, jumping off the bed, crawling under the bed (to visit cubby) and whining a bit.  I think it was all the excitement of all the new things.  He was forced to give up his old "Pack" and try to make a new one all in one day so he's obviously having issues with the whole thing.  I have to say though...day two went much better and him and cubby are starting to deal... and the cat...well, you will see how he deals after I post the pictures.  Zeus kind of fit right in to our family life here...or is trying to anyhow.  He got a pretty darn good turkey meal tonight for dinner so that he really enjoyed.
Last night we took Zeus for a drive to the gas station and he loved it...hung his head out the window the entire time...we called him "Bat Dog" it reminded us of Bailey when he was young with his ears flapping in the wind.
Today we took Zeus into town and we went to the vet (He weighed in at 86 pounds) and then we stopped to sign up for classes.  AND in July he will start his "hearing dog" training if he passes the tests.  His obedience classes are at the same place and the hearing training will take place after that.  His apt for shots and neuter are on June 5th. After the vet we went to Petco...got him a cute blue collar and a toy and some other things.  Zeus got to meet a lot of other animals which he was ok with.  There was a dog there bigger then him surprisingly. Stefan walked down to the lake today with him...well actually they ran.  It was so funny because Zeus hardly got any sleep the past two days so when he actually lays down to rest, his head is bobbing like a baby's head would.  He's falling asleep while still sitting up!  lol  It's just so funny.  I'm hoping that tonight he will be tired enough to go to sleep instead of pace around the bedroom.  I will update tomorrow with the pictures and more info on how he did tonight.  Cory went to bed early hoping to get a few hours of sleep before  Zeus and I come to bed.  I was falling asleep on the couch so I think it's time to head to bed. It's only 10pm and that's strange for me to go to bed this early.

Visitors

We have visitors this weekend and it's been fun.  Nick is just loving having a friend here to play with.  They are being such good boys.  They are playing out on the patio right now with some ride on toys.  I had the rummage sale today but was home by 5 or so and the guys said that the house was a big mess but they picked it up before I got home.  Isn't that sweet!?  Well I better get back to play.

It's close to 9 and our kiddies are in bed for the night AND sleeping already.  Nick didn't have a nap today so he was pretty tired out.  He played hard.  He did really well on sharing his toys...little spats here and there but they worked it out.  It's SO hard to share YOUR toys lol.  I'm glad Nick has friends that he can share with, it will make the transition into Kindergarten much easier.  A funny haha...Devlin accidentally spilled a diet coke on our chair and they guys were gone at the time and I forgot to clean the chair off.  Well, Devlin's daddy sat down to dinner and he says "Why is this chair wet?"  I started laughing because I had just realized that I forgot to clean it lol.

New doggy

Well, just heard from my friend that they are going to give their dog (Chocolate Lab) to us :)  Were really excited and we will get him on Sunday.  They are bringing him to our house later in the afternoon.  Stefan can't wait.  When I told him we got the dog (meaning her daugher said yes) he got all excited and asked "We got the dog NOW?"  He thought we had it home already.  He wanted to go pick him up tonight.  I told him not till after the rummage sale was over so we can spend time with him and not leave him alone the first day we get him.  His name is Zeus and we will keep that name because I would feel to bad changing it  and feel as if I were disrespecting my friends daughter.  And we like the name too which is a good thing.  Alex isn't at all happy that were replacing Bailey so soon but I explained to her that it's not REPLACING him it's getting a NEW dog.  I want a dog for Nick to grow up with too.  Our hopes are to get him trained as a hearing dog so it there is a fire in the house the dog would go wake up Stefan and assist in getting him out of the house.  Or let him know if the door bell rings or phone rings.  I hope he qualifies!  Monday I am calling and getting him an apt for his shots and to get him fixed.  Were really excited to meet him on Sunday.  Still getting ready for the rummage sale and  bringing stuff into town.  It's not been a fun process, I have been very busy.  Haven't even had time to clean much and get the spring cleaning up here done yet.  I think we had our tv off for 3 days in a row now because we have been going here and going there!  OR cleaning.  Nick always wants to be outside so when we take our breaks we go outside to play.  I will update again tomorrow after the sale probably.  Hope everyone has a good night :)  Kallie, If you call tonight call my cell cuz I have to run to town again. I won't be home till late tonight.

Its time

Update:  10pm Thanks all for the comments, they mean a lot.  We did put him to sleep and it was way more sad then I had ever expected!  We were all crying...even Cory, and I don't see him tear up much let me tell ya!  Poor Alex was the worse...she was really super sad about this and it hit her the hardest I think.  Stefan was pretty upset and crying too.  And of course when my kids are crying I have to cry too.  AND I  of course was sad for Bailey but it sure makes it worse when you see your kids crying their eyes out.  Kallie, thanks so much for talking to Steph about this... I told Bev and Art too and they are looking forward to it too.  But like I said, there is no rush at all.  We are also planning to keep his name if she decides to give him to us :)   When we got home with bailey,  he was in the back of the van wrapped in a blanket...and cubby jumped back there and started scratching at him and laid by him for a little while.  I think he knew too. I can't believe how smart dogs can be.  He's kind of sad today as well. Grandma also had to say her goodbyes and came and gave him a hug and closed his eyes.  We finally got his grave dug at about 6:45 pm My FIL was going to dig it with his back hoe but it broke down so we had to dig it by hand.  We have a huge rock for a grave stone and it looks really nice. We also put Sheba in as well so Bailey wouldn't be lonely...Sheba had been Cremated in 2002 and they saved the ashes.  Sheba was MY childhood dog and she was SO sweet. She had to be put to sleep at the age of 17.  Bailey was 16.  I took some pics and I will post them tomorrow since we are at the hotel tonight.  Thanks again for all the support :)   ONE MORE THING:  GOOD LUCK TOMORROW TO MY NIECE WHO WILL BE INDUCED AND HAVE HER BABY GIRL :)  Can't wait!!

Well, It's time to put Bailey down.  He has not eaten all day yesterday and today so far.  And he doesn't want to drink either.  I called Alex and she will meet us at the vets office.  Stefan is at school so we may wait until 3 to do it so he can be there too...if he wants to be.  This will be a very sad day.

It's suppose to be warm today (close to 90) and we have a reservation to our water park here in town.  I won it before I quit work.  So we will be gone all day and I will be back tomorrow about 11ish.  Other then that nothing much going on and I will update tomorrow as to how everything went.

UPDATE: We have an apt at 4pm and we will bring Bailey back here to bury him on our property.  It only seems right.

In memory of Bailey: We will miss you

PICTURES OF MY WALK IN THE WOODS

I PUT IN AN EARLIER ENTRY TODAY WITH LOTS OF PICTURE OF NICK AND STUFF SO CHECK THAT OUT AS WELL ;)

WOW TODAY I WONDERED WHY I DON'T WALK IN THE WOODS MORE OFTEN.  I DID TODAY AND WOW IT WAS AMAZING. I KEEP FORGETTING HOW WONDERFUL IT IS AND EVERY TIME I GO AGAIN I REMEMBER.  I WALKED FOR ABOUT 30-45 MIN AND IT WAS A WONDERFUL WALK AND OF COURSE ANKLE BITER CUBBY WENT WITH ME.  HE LOVED IT TOO.
HERE ARE SOME PICS TO DOCUMENT MY WALK...SHELL I PROMISED THESE LAST WEEK SO HERE YA GO :)

THIS IS OUR HOUSE STARTING OFF ON OUR TRAIL LOOKING BACK U CAN SEE ONE OF OUR APPLE TREES OFF TO THE RIGHT OF THE PICTURE.

AS I TURN BACK AROUND WE HEAD OUT...YOU CAN SEE CUBBY THERE CHECKING OUT THE CHIPPY

I'M ON OUR TRAIL HERE AND I COULDN'T RESIST THIS PICTURE...CUBBY STANDING ON THE LOG WATCHING A SQUIRREL.  HE IS JUST SO ADORABLE :)

OFF AGAIN...YOU CAN SEE CUBBY ON THE TRAIL AHEAD OF ME...THE TRAIL HERE IS A LITTLE THIN

GETTING DEEPER INTO THE WOODS NOW, IT'S TO EARLY IN THE DAY TO SEE THE DEER YET BUT LATER ON  IN THE WEEK I WILL TRY TO GET A PICTURE OF A DEER.

NOW THE TRAIL IS QUITE LARGE...FIL HAS TAKEN THE TRACTOR OUT A FEW TIMES AS YOU CAN SEE.  THAT OK THOUGH MUCH EASIER TO WALK ON.

MADE MY WAY UP TO THE MEADOW BUT THE FLOWERS ARE NOT IN BLOOM YET...JUST TO COLD HERE YET.  USUALLY THERE ARE LOTS OF FLOWERS HERE THE APPLE TREES ARE ALL IN BLOOM THOUGH EXCEPT THE ON BY THE HOUSE...THE ONE WITH ALL THE REALLY PINK FLOWERS.  I HOPE IT'S NOT AN OFF YEAR FOR IT...IT ONLY HAS A FEW FLOWERS SO FAR. :(

I STARTED FOR HOME AFTER THIS...COULD HAVE WENT A BIT FARTHER BUT WAS AFRAID I WOULD GET LOST LOL

Just talkin

Well, I can tell I have been busy around here because my entries are not every day lately.  My cleaning has been coming along nicely and I'm almost done going through stuff for our rummage sale.  We were going to have it this weekend but decided to go next because of my niece being due like any day now.  Plus neither of us were ready.  She will be induced on the 15th either way.  So she will have it then for sure.
Next on the list...I talked to a friend of mine and she was looking for a home possibly for her chocolate lab and I'm interested in taking him after we put bailey down.  For one thing it's mostly potty trained and for another it's already a year through it's puppy stage :)  We have lots of acres here for him to run where as now they live in the city and they both have full time jobs so they would like him to have more people time.  He's going to get so much people time here he will probably get sick of us lol.  Now it's just talking to her daughter (it's her dog) and me getting a definite yes from my hubby.  which I think he's for it.  I know my son is.   He had his heart set on a boxer but after reading about the chocolate labs he is ok with it. And what I want is a gentle companion (I know this takes labs a few years to reach that calm down stage) and a very scary bark to scare away bad people if hubby happens to be gone. We are even considering sending him to school to be a hearing dog for my son :)  So if everything works out we will be the owners of a new puppy.  Now I have some pictures to share:
<---NICK WITH THE NEW BABY
