ABC's and update on my daughter video/PICS lots of um

Well, my daughter is back to normal now...the docs think she had a virus so after some pain pills she is doing ok.  They did take tests that have not come back yet for lime's and some other things just to be safe.  Results should be back this week or next.  She is not taking the pain meds anymore so things seem to be looking up :)

Today will be a cleaning day...have lots to do including sheets and shower curtains to wash today.  Stefan is cleaning the living room and taking out garbage and then he's off to his friends house prob to spend the night.  My dad is out in his lazyboy taking a nap and Nic is at grandmas for lunch.  Today will be a stay home day since I have eggs hatching today :)  Good day to spend the day cleaning.  I really need to go to the store but I have dinner planned for today so I can wait until tomorrow to go.  I HOPE all 6 eggs hatch by tomorrow.

Our garden is really coming along and doing better then I expected.  Of course ME who DID NOT want a garden is doing all the work.  I KNEW that would happen lol.  Cory wanted this garden and he and everyone else does like looking at it grow but do not pull weeds or water or fertilize.  In his defense he has been working LONG hours and working on weekends for his business.   If it were not for the expense of the food in the stores right now I would leave it go to weed!  lol  NO I prob wouldn't but I HATE gardens!  HATE THEM!  What I did do was put straw down so the weeds were not so plentiful ;) It has helped!  Here are a few pictures of my garden...didn't take as many as I wanted to because I forgot my camera card.  This is BEFORE weeding for the week too.  So it does look pretty bad.

Note from hubby:  Carrie conveniently forgets the FIVE times I tilled it just to be able to plant... and left out that I watered the garden yesterday before she posted this.

BROCCOLI...If anyone has experience with broccoli feel free to chim in here!  broccoli has confused us...like I said, this is our first time gardening and some of our plants have flowers on and areare real tall and others have what looks like broccoli coming up with NO flowers??  Are these flowers plants going to seed BEFORE giving us veggies?  AND WHY?

We also have lettuce, cucumbers, beets, onions, kale and potatoes...will take pics of those later.

I had to take a picture of Jack....this is our umm I call it our foyer but Its not what it is literally...lol It's the middle of the steps...we have steps going up and down from this area.  Jack likes sleeping next to my VERY heavy fox and I have no clue why lol  Sometimes he cuddles right up next to him, it's so cute.

Alexandra is taking Nic swimming at the pool...turns out they get their, pay, and then the place closes down because they seen lightning!  So she got a free day pass and Nic was not happy he didn't get to swim...Alex took him to a lake but he would NOT go in.  He wanted the pool!  LOL  Here is NIc looking at ALex while I take the picture.

Sorry I haven't been around lately.  Life has been getting in the way.   I'm laid up for awhile so I should be able to keep up with journals.  LOL  Glad your daughter is feeling much better.  Nic is growing fast and I love your vid.  He's such a cutie!  Your garden is coming along well.
Hugs,
Dana

What a nice treat at the end of this entry.  Nic is adorable and that video is precious.  I am so glad your daughter is doing better.  Garden looks great.  I am not a gardener myself as far as veggies, I like planting flowers, so I cannot answer the question about the broccoli, but bet my Hubby can.  Will have to try and remember and ask him when he gets home from work today.  I hope your daughter does not have Lyme, that can be a mean disease.  I know a young man who has it.  I spent all day yesterday cleaning.  Had been helping son move, still am not done with that.  It has worn me out.  Hope you and family had a nice 4th.

Blessings!~

I am catching up with all my blogger friends!

Wow, your garden is great.  I picked some tomatoes the other day.  Hummm, they tasted like heaven.  This fall I am putting in a raised bed for fall veggies and next spring so I need to get the railroad ties stacked and start hauling soil.

My daughter is moving back home, her Crohn's disease has been flaring up so she can't work enough to afford her apartment.  She gets her old bedroom back except this time her brother isn't next to her to complain all the time!  But she returned with a dog...I have 6 running around the property now!  LOL

Glad your daughters alright :o)  Hope all of the six eggs hatched okay.  Looks like your chickens are doing well.  I would've suggested leaving the garden go to weed but like you say the prices are ridiculous at the moment :(  Love the picture of Jack with the fox :o)

YEAH Nic that was awesome! If Kyan and I had been there we would sing with you too.
So glad your daughter is getting better now. Hope all the tests come back clear.
Good luck on the new eggs.
Love the garden I wish I could have one over here, but every creature in the world eats my stuff. I can't have anything over here.
That cat looks just like our cat Gracie. Thats funny that it sleeps by the fox.
Poor Nic he looked so excited to go swimming. Darn lightening always has to ruin a good day of swimming. I'm glad they at least got a free pass to come back.
Take care and Hugs, Chrissie

Hi Carrie,
Catching up here too! I'm sorry to hear that your daughter has not been well....did her tests come back yet? I will keep her in my prayers. I absolutely LOVED the video of Nic singing the ABC's.....just how sweet was that? Cherish every moment of that, and put those videos in a fire proof safe.....seriously!

You just have the best life, it always makes me smile to see how happy your family is.

Thanks for all of your support since my fire, it has meant soooo much to both Marv & I.

Pooh Hugs,
Linda
P.S.................I had 30 Diet Coke point labels I had been saving and should have sent. They were all lost in the fire and I feel so bad for not gettinbg off my butt and sending them to you sooner and they would have been safe, I'm really sorry.
